Professional Development Overview

One of the challenges for INCOSE UK members is to understand how best to develop their career as a professional involved in the discipline of Systems Engineering.

INCOSE UK are a Licensed Member of the Engineering Council. We are able to assess candidates for inclusion on the national register of professional engineers and technicians as Chartered Engineer (CEng), Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Engineering Technician (EngTech). Follow this link if you wish to find out more about becoming a CEng, IEng or Engtech through INCOSE UK.

The INCOSE Systems Engineering Certification Programme (established in 2004) offers three levels of technical certification for systems engineers (Associate, Certified Professional, Expert) and - depending on the level - includes an assessment of academic background, and validation of both knowledge and experience either through an exam and references, or formal interviews with experts. Follow this link if you wish to find out more about the INCOSE Systems Engineering Certification programme.

If you are interested in developing skills and knowledge in specific systems engineering areas, there are a number of training courses and training providers available.
